A simple way to iron concrete with your own hands
Concrete ironing - the simplest and most affordable way to increase its consumer characteristics, namely strength and ability to resist precipitation.
There are two ways to harden concrete: the so-called. "dry" and "wet". The simplest of them is dry iron, so I will talk about it in this article.
For dry ironing of concrete you will need:
- cement grade not lower than M300;
- sieve;
- trowel tool (trowel / foam trowel).
The algorithm of actions is as follows:
- Concrete is poured onto a prepared surface. In 10-12 hours after pouring, ironing is carried out.
- To do this, dry cement is scattered over the surface of the concrete through a sieve in a uniform layer 2-3 mm thick.
- After 10-15 minutes after that, the cement should turn dark gray - take moisture from the top layer of concrete. From this moment on, it can be rubbed: the movements should be intense, but not strong, so as not to deform the top layer of the mixture.
A day after ironing, you can walk on the concrete surface. Concrete will gain full grade strength in 28 days.
