What is agrofibre and its application, the price of the issue?
Increasingly, in Zen articles, and in general on the Internet, "agrofibre" appears. I decided to figure out what it is and what it is used for in gardening.
Agrofibre (or in other words "spunbond") is a polymeric (synthetic) material that has the ability to accumulate heat. Agrofibre is of two types - black and white.
White agrofiber perfectly transmits sunlight, air and moisture, and therefore is used to cover greenhouses, beds and as a covering material for non-frost-resistant plants.
Black agrofibre, on the contrary, it is dense and solid - water and air do not pass through it, as well as the sun's rays. Therefore, black agrofibre is an excellent material for creating a mulch layer, for example, near strawberries.
Black agrofiber is good in two ways:
- when you need to quickly warm up the soil - as you know, the black color does not reflect the sun's rays, and therefore the material heats up a lot.
- when you want to "kill" the weeds around the planted plants;
They say that spunbond (agrofibre) was invented in the Netherlands, but today it is not difficult to find it here. Average price per square meter:
- white canvas - 15-20 rubles / sq.m
- black canvas - 25 rubles / sq.m.
