How I checked the authenticity of the purchased vermicompost

click fraud protection

Six bags of vermicompost were already standing near the house. Already opened, looked, sniffed: black, odorless. And doubts remained whether it was precisely vermicompost, and not peat or humus.

It's good that a "brilliant" idea came to mind: read on the Internet how to determine the authenticity of vermicompost.

Who is not in the subject, vermicompost is obtained by the complete processing of manure or compost by worms. They can also feed worms with special food.

Some sing odes to biohumus, others write nasty things about it, I don't want to replicate either good or bad.

I trust what I see with my own eyes. At first I bought the same vermicompost in 5 liters, 2 seasons. I made sure that he is super! The plants are happy, the harvest is excellent. This means that there is nothing there that cannot be allowed into your garden.

It was the supplier from Avito that caused doubts, suddenly it was not the same vermicompost that I experienced, but something in general. Free delivery directly to your home...

The driver was in no hurry to leave, gave benevolent advice, this was encouraging. And all doubts did not leave... So, as I checked.

The first way

There should be granules - coprolites. They will not crumble when rubbed with your fingers. and there is! Do not crumble.

Second way

Throw a little vermicompost into the water, the water will remain clear. Remained transparent! If it was black soil or peat (they are also black), the water would become cloudy.

I just added a handful of vermicompost to the water
Literally before our eyes, all the particles settled and the water became transparent

After that, I added some purchased peat soil. As you can see, he is not going to sink, the water immediately became cloudy:

Peat soil does not sink and muddy the water

I hope someone will find these methods useful to sleep well :)

I also had such an experience. I bought granulated purified biohumus, which is expensive. I did not doubt him. So, the granules did not even have time to disintegrate at the seedling stage. I realized that it was both expensive and not at all what I needed.

How do you feel about biohumus?

I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
