20 cm of the ridge aero element was missing. How I got out of the situation without spending another whole roll.
There was a little lack of material - this is the most disgusting situation that every builder has encountered. But the options for solving such problems are different for everyone ...
Of course, the hired worker will not take a steam bath, and will tell the customer that he needs to buy more. But when for the sake of a small piece, you need to buy something whole, self-builders like me start to come up with something else.
A similar example happened to me during roofing work.
I already wrote about how did you glue the skate aero element. Everything went more or less successfully except for one moment, which came out at the end.
Roof length 10 meters, two rolls of material 5 meters each. How did it happen?
It's very simple ... The fact that the aerial element is not glued to a straight surface, but to a wavy surface, I certainly did not take into account. And along the entire length, it makes a big difference.
The main question is where to get these 20 cm of material?
- A whole roll of aeroelement for a ridge costs about 2,500 rubles. And I didn't want to spend money for a small piece.
- At the same time, the area to be closed was already in the area of the roof overhang. Therefore, its role was not so important, the main ventilation is on the main part of the roof.
✅ So, you just need to close this area with something, so that debris does not fly in.
So, I took what was at hand.
Remains of the very isolone that I used, for a seal under the counter rail, fell to the article.
I glued it to soft double-sided tape. Keeps, like, normal. It will also press on top with a skate ...
He painted the edges with the same enamel for metal tiles (about its benefits, I wrote in this article) so that the white edges do not stick out from under the ridge.
It seems to have worked out well. And this "patch", I think, will cope with its task.
Here's a simple way out of the situation.
