Mold in a house under construction. I save wooden structures at my construction site.
Any fungus and mold are invisible, but very dangerous enemies in any home. And you need to eradicate them as early as possible.
Even during the construction of a stone house, such problems are possible, because the rafter system is everywhere made of wood.
Of course, I thought about protecting wooden structures even before the roof was erected (about this, I wrote here). But as it turned out, it is not enough to smear everything with protective impregnations once.
One of the features of building alone is the relatively high cost of time. There is no escape from this ...
Of course, if you miss everything, quickly mount it, and cover the roof, then this degree of protection will be enough. But, for the work that the construction team does in a week, it took me a month and a half ...
And during this time, numerous rains, most of the "protection" was simply washed out of the boards (about problems with rains, I wrote in this article).
As a result, the result is obvious.
Mold covered many wooden surfaces, but what worried me the most was the element that was installed earlier than anyone else, and therefore the most wet in the rain.
Mauerlat.
(how I installed it, you can read here).
β Still, this is what the floor and roof stand on, and the Mauerlat is the basis of their durability.
Therefore, we urgently need to save everything.
While our winter that had not begun, gave way to a thaw, I decided to process everything, with protective compounds, right on the spot. All the remnants of the fire-biological protection that I had were used.
- Previously, I cleaned off all the mold with sandpaper, or with a brush.
- And then he applied the solution with a spray bottle.
Nothing complicated, except that in some places, I had to crawl in uncomfortable places.
For example, outside, from the side of the roof overhang, it was very inconvenient.
β The only thing left is doubt, about the degree of protection. Compositions, such as all in one, in my opinion - it's neither this nor that... Perhaps it is better to buy an antiseptic and treat everything with it, or are there some special means for this?
