Partition 100 mm. aerated concrete. I decided that for my house it is better than brick.
When I erected the walls from aerated concrete blocks, many told me that this was a big mistake. What about a 100mm thick partition?
Here many will say that it will not be a wall, but a "membrane".
Of course, a brick partition is a more justified choice in terms of reliability and sound insulation.
But here, too, there are nuances both in terms of work and in terms of costs, which I have not encountered.
Therefore, the question arises: "Do I need it?"
I am not one of those people for whom it is important, sitting in one room, not to hear what is happening behind the wall. I don't care if I hear someone walking on the overhead ceiling or not. All these are, in my opinion, little things ...
Therefore, I make decisions for myself.
And aerated concrete suits me like no other.
- Simplicity of masonry.
- The speed of work.
- And what kind of experience, after laying the walls, is also available.
In this case, there is an opportunity to "play Tetris" as you need.
I made partitions for bath and toilet rooms. To begin with, it was necessary to make a preliminary layout in order to simplify the work and reduce the amount of waste.
Here you can turn the blocks as you like. So the best option came out, with the block laying on the "end". It turned out to be a kind of aerated concrete column.
In addition, I decided to do the entire laying on glue-foam.
I already had experience using it on wall masonry (used foam on the ends of the blocks). And here, I decided to try to collect everything in this way. And this greatly accelerated the process.

So I'm confident in my choice, at least for now... And we will find out later how it will be in operation. π
