Aerated concrete masonry after the first winter. It's time to look for the cracks with which everyone scared me. 👀

The spring days have already come, and we can summarize the first, preliminary results of the state of my house. Aerated concrete walls are the main issue.

As soon as my choice was not criticized, to build a house from aerated concrete, some readers of my channel. And although I made this choice deliberately, based on the fact that I am not the first such person (already half of Russia in aerated concrete houses), there were still doubts about the quality of the work.

Especially remembering all the unforeseen difficulties that arose, and which no one mentions anywhere ...

But in fact, the fact that I'm new to construction has played a positive role.

1. To all construction processes, I approached the principle of "measure seven times, cut once."

• Installation of the first blocks - especially.
• Removing each subsequent row, with a grater.
• Constant control during the installation of each unit.

All this was from the first to the 12th row of my masonry.

2. At the same time, reinforcement was made according to all the rules.

• Every 3rd row, and an armored belt on top.

- this is the use of ordinary glue for aerated concrete on a plane, and foam glue on vertical joints.

And so everything is done, "as in books."

Having stood for 7 months, the masonry is already well established.

Enough to draw the first conclusions.

After all the measures I took, I was still worried:

• Was the foundation normal?
• How will aerated concrete behave after shrinkage?
• And how will everything stand the winter without heating?

I went around the house more than once in search of any defects.

Of course, cracks "like a finger", I did not expect, but hair, shrinkage cracks could appear

But in the end, and fortunately, I never found anything.

Even on a solid pediment, which I did without reinforcement, everything was in order.

It is possible to draw final conclusions early.

But in fact, the walls have already taken all the main load from the roof and stood with this for the winter. No more loads will appear, which means that there is no need to wait for something bad.

In any case, it is still far from the exterior decoration, there is an opportunity to observe the walls further.
