Expanding the window opening. I broke off an extra piece of the wall π€¦ββοΈ, but corrected it in time.
Was the window larger than the opening? No problem... In aerated concrete, it will not be difficult to increase the opening. The main thing with the same ease is not to break off too much.
And so the windows arrived at my construction site (as I checked them, read here), and you need to start installing them. But as with any job, preparation is needed here. And the main thing to do Is to enlarge one of the window openings.
I already wrote aboutas I miscalculated with the smallest window in the bathroom.
The minimum size of a swing-out window is 500 x 500. At the construction stage, of course, I did not know this, and made an opening of 500 by 460.
So you need to expand.
Fortunately, I already know how to "make holes" in the walls from the gas block. But here, too, there were some problems ...
I decided to do everything with a grinder. Saw off in pieces and split them off. As a result, I broke it off so that, together with the sawn-off piece, an unnecessary part of the block came off.
I had to glue these pieces back with foam ...
What should be done now ???
And I decided to use the method, which has already drilled a hole in the wall, under the sewer. Drill and long drill are simple and safe options.
β It is enough to drill a few centimeters and combine everything in one cut. And then with an ordinary hacksaw on aerated concrete, finish the work.
Everything became much easier, and without any chipped pieces. As a result, a more or less flat opening came out, as if it were.
So the aerated concrete walls will carry all the shoals of such an inexperienced builder like me. In most cases, everything can be fixed ...
subscribe to the channel and put varnishes π. The installation process of this little window, too, was not without "interesting" moments.
