Mounting wedges didn't fit? Let's cut it in half! I am finishing it with a "clumsy" method, but the main thing is that this did not affect the result.
I have never liked online shopping, and this case is proof of that. Until you see it live, touch it with your hands, there is no certainty that you are buying what you need.
But with little things like mounting wedges, I decided to take a chance. I needed them to install plastic windows in my house.
I don't know why, but I got it into my headthat they should be sold two pieces per set (otherwise how can they regulate something), and nothing else. And most importantly, I saw confirmation of this.
But somehow, I drew attention to other wedges, which are also more expensive ...
For me, the picture shows two wedges lying on top of each other. The total thickness (two wedges) is 32mm, that's what I need. Apparently at that moment, my mind left me ...
But in the end, as you know, one piece came.
Moreover, if you put them on top of each other, as expected, it turns out to be too thick. So I had to "farm" once again.
The way out turned out to be simple and logical - cut from lengthwise, making two from one wedge.
I did this with the help of a grinder, clamping the wedge itself with a clamp.
As you can see, the cut was not always perfect 😬. But it does not affect the "chassis" ...
The main thing is that the required adjustment thickness has been obtained.
So, once again, I had to fix my own jambs.
