Live work. I show myself: it is risky or safe, to do it without any experience.
Everything happens for the first time. Once I knew nothing about construction, but now there is a box of a house on my site. Just a year ago, if I had been offered to "dig deeper" in the live wires, I would have sent this person to hell. And the other day, I did this job without any doubts.
I must say right away that I do not urge everyone to follow my example... Everyone is responsible for themselves. I am only telling my experience, which may be useful to someone.
This story is connected with my long-suffering electrical box.
At first, he hung on a post behind a fence. But after it was demolished by Kamaz (how it was read here), I decided to hang it in an already erected house.
I placed it inside (about this workwritten here). But many of my readers wrote in the comments, that it is not reasonable.
- Firstly, it is not advisable to bring the self-supporting insulated wire into the house, since it is from with combustible insulation.
- Secondly, according to the rules, the metering unit must be outside the house.
And I decided to hang everything on the facade of the building.
But again I didn't want to pay money to the electrician, and I decided to deal with this issue myself.
The self-supporting insulated wire from the support to my electrical box had a break.
YES, yes, I know you can't, but in that situation there was not enough wire (it had to be extended), and so there was no need to call the sealant again.
So I needed:
Disconnect the wires at the break.
Move the box outside the house.
And again make the connection in the same place.
It's simple, but the problem is that you need to work under voltage.
And the main thing here is compliance with security measures.
- We don't grab the bare wires.
- Connections are made through special piercing clamps.
- Do everything with dielectric gloves.
And there is nothing supernatural there.
Of course now all the electricians will shout with one voice that I am a fool and I was lucky that I did not get an electric shock.
But it seems to me that I just prepared and thought everything over ...
✅ So that you don't need to be afraid to do something for the first time, but you need to approach the issue wisely.
