Do-it-yourself concrete bottom, on quicksand. I am doing preparatory work in an extreme mode.
Unforeseen situations are an integral part of a self-builder's life. And here the main thing is not to fall into a stupor, but to quickly navigate and do everything "according to the situation."
Probably, many doubted, but I still managed to bury my homemade septic tank a meter deep, while struggling with water and quicksand.
Read how it was in this article.
But this was not the end, but the beginning of the main difficulties.
When I dug my "concrete box" to the required depth, sand together with water began to pour from all places, washing out from the outside of the walls. I just didn't have time to shovel it all out with a shovel.
And it was urgent to strengthen this sandy swamp ...
To do this, I laid geotextiles and poured a layer of rubble on top of it.
Of course, the water continued to do the same, but already without sand, and that was the main thing. Having stood in this state for several days, the whole structure did not settle further, so you can work ...
Now it was necessary to reinforce the bottom, before pouring concrete.
To do this, I first drilled holes and hammered pieces of reinforcement into the walls to tie the bottom to the walls.
And then the extreme began.
I already had experience of welding while standing in water (when i didground loop to your home), but then all the equipment was on the ground, I got the wires.
And here, I had to do everything with a welder on my back, with several extension cords, while controlling my every step so that everything did not fall into the water.
✅ Most likely, it was possible to do without this extreme, but simply to tie everything in the usual way. But it seems to me that in the case of welding, the connection will be better.
Maybe I'm wrong, write your opinion in the comments.
As a result, everything was ready for concrete pouring.
It remained to solve the main problem - it is a constant inflow of groundwater ...
But how I will deal with this, read in the following publications.
