In one of my articles, I already wrote about the problems of connecting to the central water supply in my SNT (read here). Therefore, once again you need to take everything into your own hands.

Like all work on my site, I will do the drilling myself for the first time.

After watching videos, and after reading a bunch of articles on the Internet, I came to the conclusion that the best option is water drilling.

It seemed to me that this is a simple matter. It does not require any special skills, here you only need some equipment, which you can also really do yourself.

Drill rods.

In the store you can buy steel pipes, already threaded at the ends. But it is much cheaper to roll the threads separately to ordinary pipes.

Perhaps this is less reliable, especially considering what kind of "welder" I am. But for these purposes it will do.

The main thing here is to do it as smoothly as possible, since the straightness of the entire drill string will depend on it.

Drill bit.

Everyone makes it removable, and I welded the drill straight to the first rod.

An ordinary piece of metal, 5 mm. I couldn't find it any thicker.

Bar handle.

Was made from scrap metal at hand.

The main thing here is that in the places of clamping, it fits more tightly to the bar. Otherwise, with good effort, it will scroll (as it used to be with me).

And here's another adaptation.

It is needed to stop the drill string when parsing back. Here you need to catch a thin middle so that the rods themselves pass freely into the slot, but there are no couplings.

Couplings are a separate conversation.

It turns out to be problematic to find steel couplings in a regular store that would suit me perfectly. Therefore, I had to buy ordinary, cast-iron ones (looking ahead, I will say that there were problems with them ...).

The whole preparation took half a day.

And it made me understand once again that everything is very simple in this drilling... 🤦‍♂️
