I make a filter for a well with my own hands. What can affect its performance?

❗ Having made all the preparations for drilling the well, it remains to make its main element - the filter.

And here there will be their own, important nuances:

We straighten the non-rectifiable ...

Here the HDPE pipe is in the lead. After lying in the store for a long time, twisted "into a ball", it is very difficult to straighten it. And in this matter, one cannot do without fire.

The burner perfectly softens the plastic and makes the pipe pliable. Here I needed to straighten about two meters of the pipe.

There are more holes, but it's better not to overdo it.

Now a screwdriver and a feather drill are used.

✅ For 32 HDPE pipe, I made holes of 15 mm in a checkerboard pattern. If you take a larger drilling diameter, then this can already affect the strength and integrity of the pipe.

Still, it is still to be pushed into the well.

The line also came in handy.

This is an important point that not everyone does, but which affects the filter's capacity and service life.

By winding the filter mesh directly onto the pipe, we limit its usable working area to the size of the holes in the pipe. Where the mesh fits snugly against the walls, it is useless.

❗ And by raising it, even a little, above the surface, by winding the fishing line (as in my case), the net will work completely.

Let's not forget about the most important thing - the filter mesh.

Screeds fit best, and quickly and efficiently. And it is better not to take the cheapest, because it is better to tighten it harder.
