Simple agricultural technique to increase garlic by 1/3
I am glad to see you my article, thank you for opening my materials and reading them to the end.
It may seem to some readers that my article was written too early. They say it would be better to write it in the spring, when summer residents are just starting the season for planting garlic.
But I'm afraid to forget, so I hope for your memory: you will read the secret today, and apply it next spring.
This useful advice for increasing garlic was told to me by my neighbor and part-time professional agronomist, who has retired and "indulges" in planting in a small country house.
So it's spring. You planted the garlic in the first warm decade, and after 10-14 days (depending on the planting depth and ground temperature), it gave the first green shoots.
At this moment, you need to postpone other dacha concerns for an hour and arm yourself with ordinary pitchforks.
With a pitchfork you need to "walk" along the entire row of garlic, just a little short of young shoots (literally 8-10 cm). More careful: do not damage the bulbs hidden underground.
You need to make deep (full forks) holes along the entire bed. Through these holes, the roots of the garlic will receive oxygen. It turns out that this culture is very demanding not only for water, but also for air.
Previously, I simply loosened garlic and onion beds, thinking that this amount of air for the plant will be enough.
But the agronomist advised to stick a pitchfork - through a long hole 25-30 centimeters deep, the roots will receive more oxygen, which will increase the head size by 30-35%.
Naturally, after heavy rains, the procedure will have to be repeated. But it doesn't take much time. Moreover, a lot of garlic is usually not planted.
In my opinion, the heads of garlic from this crop are really larger than usual. Next year I want to plant two beds of garlic - one for the sake of experiment will not huddle at all. I will saturate the second with oxygen, and take a photo comparing the garlic from both beds. You will see the result.
Do not regret likes and comments. For me, this is the main indicator that the article was useful to you. Thank you.
