I am building a house with my own hands, but many do not understand π€·ββοΈ. What stereotypes prevent readers from believing me?
Before reading this article, draw an image of a self-builder in your head. Who is this person, what does he look like and what does he do in life? I wonder what your stereotypes will be?
If at least five years ago, they told me that I would build myself a house, and even with my own hands, then I would never have believed... Although now this is one of the most important activities for me.
If my outlook on life changes so much, then what to expect from others?
The comments of my readers led me to write this article. And based on them, I formed a picture of who people see me as. And here are the most interesting stereotypes in my opinion:
1οΈβ£ All self-builders are "men over 50".
"Hey man!", "But what about family and children?", "It's not far from retirement ..."
Such phrases are often found... Although I am only 32 years old (maybe this is just not a lot for me), there are no children yet, only my beloved wife, and that is not official yet. Like everyone else, I work 8 hours a day at a regular job.
And I started building not because I have nothing else to do in my life, but on the contrary, to move forward and develop.
- Probably you need to upload your photos more often so that it is clear that young people (I also include myself in this group) there is still a lot to do.
2οΈβ£ You can't do everything yourself, why then experts.
Before starting construction, I honestly did not think about it so deeply.
The first goal was just to lay down the walls of aerated concrete, well, what's the big deal??? That was my idea of ββa construction site with my own hands.
β But already in the process, I had to study many questions that I would never have thought about.
From the cushion under the foundation to the binding of reinforcement, from pouring concrete, to the even masonry of walls, from the rafter system to the laying of metal tiles. Again, everything sounds superficial, but how many little things there.
And after two years of self-construction, I can say for sure that you can learn everything, especially in our time, when information is on such access. The main thing is interest.
3οΈβ£ Do-it-yourself construction is a burden for the rest of your life.
A burden is something that pulls you down, slows you down and prevents you from moving forward ...
And if mixing concrete gives you strength, every new row of the wall inspires, and every hammered nail makes you do all this every day, then you cannot call it a burden.
It is difficult to force yourself to do a difficult job, almost every day, before and after work. And I perfectly understand that this may not be for the rest of my life, but definitely for a long time... And this does not bother me, but rather inspires me π
This is what happened to me opinion, opinion my readers π.
Although, maybe all this is just my stereotypes about you ???
