It so happened, during my life I was passing through and on business in many cities. Of course, mainly, it was the European part of the country: Samara, Orenburg, Kazan, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pskov, Kaliningrad... All cities are countless.

But there is one thing that unites almost all of these cities - they do not know how to repair Khrushchev so that it is beautiful anywhere except in Kazan and Kaliningrad. But in this article we will focus on the most western city of Russia - Kaliningrad.

It still smells of German spirit, starting from the fact that there is no domestic car industry here - mostly old German foreign cars. And ending with the buildings - some of the German survived during the war, and some - the "Khrushchevs" converted in the German style.

Looking at the roof and how the under-roof space is arranged, you will never say that this is a Soviet building. And only the standard sizes of the windows of the first three floors are given in the house by the Soviet era.

And here, pay attention to the rustication of the first floor - this can be seen in large quantities only in St. Petersburg. I also liked the imitation of brickwork between the windows (especially on the side of the house).

And this handsome man came out of the renovation with a color characteristic of German architecture of the 19th century and small open balconies.

Why isn't this done anywhere else?

I wonder why no other city in Russia is investing so much money and energy in renovation as Kaliningrad?

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, these houses were once built with the expectation that in 25-30 years they will be demolished and replaced with more reliable ones.

But the city and the image of its inhabitants are radically transformed. It has been proven that even crime disappears in well-maintained areas!

Why doesn't anyone renovate...
