When the porch is an extension to the main foundation of the house, somehow you don't want to bother with its arrangement, but you have to.

This work is part of the arrangement of the insulated blind area around my house.

Since the construction of the porch, I decided to postpone for later (until it is needed), then you need to "prepare the ground" for this. Otherwise, you will have to disassemble all your insulation ...

And what happens, you need to make the foundation for the porch, and then insulate?

In theory, yes ... But I decided to go the other way, and put the future porch directly on the insulation.

Everything will be done according to the principle of the same plate:

First, preparation of the base (replacing the soil with compacted sand).

Here the most energy was spent. As always, alone, and with a shovel ...

At a distance of 1 meter from the foundation, I did not touch anything, everything is already there since the construction of the foundation for the house.

Fertile soil was chosen to the very end, just under the place of the future porch. And I also dug half a meter under the blind area, I dug only one and a half bayonets of shovels (enough to fill with sand).

• Before filling the sand, a geotextile was laid ...

• The sand was tamped and leveled carefully ...

Then a layer of EPSP insulation.

And on top, then, there will already be the foundation itself.

Moreover, it will not necessarily make a completely classic slab.

Considering that the weight of the porch is relatively small, you can simply put, or fill in "pointwise", some blocks. Even so, the density of the EPS should be sufficient to support the structure.
