The ground is heaving, and my pillars are even: a cunning method
This article is equally suitable for those who have heaving soil in the country, and for those who are a little more lucky with the land than me. The method was verified by me personally, so if you have any questions about the technology, I will answer in the comments.
I know that I will see a bunch of negativity from smart people in the comments, but for many people this method of installing pillars is the solution to the problem, so I can't help but share it.
So, the scheme is as follows:
It looks nothing unusual, but the whole catch of this method is hidden under the word "frame". As a fixing frame, I used ordinary 110-diameter sewer pipes (my pipe is ~ 80 diameter). 30 mm - the cavity between the wall of the plastic and iron pipes, which we fill with concrete.
Why is my way good?
At first, when the soil swells, it "crawls" along a very smooth plastic pipe and, due to the fact that it is filled with concrete, passes by without moving the post itself. It is the smoothness of the sewer pipe that works for us.
Secondly, the concrete enclosed in a plastic pipe does not come into contact with the soil, which means there is no capillary suction of moisture. In other words, water does not destroy concrete - it does not absorb into its pores.
Thirdly, the double concreting contour simply makes the structure more stable. This is especially important if we will hang a wicket or a gate on a post.
A number of important nuances:
- the plastic pipe should rise 10-15 centimeters above the ground - in other words, there must be a PVC pipe at the entire depth of heaving of the soil.
- it will not be superfluous to reinforce concrete with reinforcement with a diameter of at least 16 mm;
- you need to concrete in two contours: first, a "sole" or "cake" made of concrete at the bottom of the pit, then (upper 50-60 cm) - a plastic pipe with concrete. The lower contour can be wrapped with roofing felt - from the same moisture suction.
