Which is better horse chestnut or walnut

Strange question, isn't it? It turns out that the answer is ambiguous. Two stories to prove the special relationship to the horse chestnut. Subscriber stories. One is lyrical, the other is funny.

In Hungary

It so happened that I had to be in Hungary. A beautiful country, good-natured people. And how they look after their gardens and vegetable gardens! Maybe there are countries where they take better care of them, but I have not been there. Therefore, I can always remember this country only with admiration.

But I wanted to talk about chestnuts. It was autumn time. The trees were decorated with yellow leaves. And under the walnut it was dangerous to pass, as its fruits rained down like hail. Only, to our surprise, no one picked ripe nuts.

After seeing the owner, we asked permission to collect some for food.

“Collect as much as you want,” he said, smiling. - These nuts only eat proteins!

Having collected a little, we thanked the kind person and went on. But they never ceased to be surprised at his answer about proteins.

Then we came to the chestnut park. Already from a distance we saw people similar in behavior to mushroom pickers. Coming closer, we saw a strange picture for us. People collected horse chestnuts in baskets. I wanted to ask them, and asked. We were told that this is a lot of money. They donate these chestnuts to a drug factory.

South Bazaar

An elderly herbalist woman laid out her wares on the counter. The smell of herbs tickled in my nose. I stood aside and just admired the life of the bazaar.

And then a woman approached the granny. She asked if there were horse chestnuts. You need to treat your husband's shoulder. Granny took out a bag of chestnuts. Poured with a slide into a faceted glass. I poured it into a newspaper bag and started looking in the book for an article on how to properly treat. I found it and started reading.

And then I came to the place where the vodka tincture is made. Then the customer asked:

- Can I use a triple cologne?

To which the granny replied:

- Woman! I'm reading to you! Insists on vodka.

But the customer did not calm down:

- I understand everything, but do you think it is possible to insist on cologne?

And then the granny turned into a formidable old woman before our eyes. And she screamed at the whole bazaar.

- Yes, even on g - do not insist!!! Get out! I won't sell you chestnuts! - and drove away.

I’ll add on my own, I’ve always smelled on the market, who loves what he’s doing, has aromas, everything is fresh, they buy up from such people, and it comes out cheaper. Excessive emotionality is characteristic of southern peoples, you need to understand :)

Afterword

I used to collect chestnuts for an elderly teacher. She was over 80. I respected her very much. She made a tincture or a decoction, I don't remember, "for the legs."

Then I learned that chestnut preparations help with varicose veins (not all).

I looked for additional information, it turned out that's what. Horse chestnut is a remedy:

  • anti-inflammatory
  • normalizing blood pressure
  • antimicrobial
  • venotonic
  • blood thinning
  • wound healing
  • regenerating
  • pain relievers
  • hemostatic
  • diuretic
  • antioxidant
  • decongestant
  • antineoplastic
  • astringent
  • anti-sclerotic

From the leaves and seeds of horse chestnut, the preparations "Escuvazin" and "Esflazid", Horse Chestnut Extract, Ointments, Oil and Tincture, Balms, Creams and other preparations are produced.

There are contraindications! And the list of them is quite impressive.

Think you have some respect for horse chestnut now, too?

Or do you have experience treating them?

I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
