Seedling containers are a song, my new verses :)
Loved and cups
And black bags
Convenient tablets
Yes, peat-humus.
Yes, everyone wanted the best
And the very best.
So I wasted
I bought something :)
I'll try! They are praised. The only thing, it's a pity that the bottom irrigation will not work, only from above and dosed (we must not be mistaken), water will not flow out.
And what are they praised for? It is convenient to take out seedlings. And after that, it takes root better, the root system is not injured.
One could try to make holes in the bottom, but my second such purchase, it seems, is not designed for holes. If anyone knows, I will be grateful for help in resolving the issue: to make holes or not :)
What they promise: The bottom works like Baikal-EM-1, it improves and increases everything. EM disks are then recommended to be buried next to the plant after planting in the ground. Naturally, dig up in the fall for the next seedlings.
Here are some more comrades with EM-bottom, successors during transshipment:
And an old song, with a new verse
Peat-humus tablets were used only by Jiffy, they have fewer complaints. I decided not to deny myself the convenience, bought all sizes that were. One size is very interesting, I did not know that there are such.
You can sow any seeds in them, the only difference is how quickly you have to transplant. The shell will need to be cut and removed before transplantation.
I try to prepare the soil for vegetables myself, delicious. And the pills are just right for the flowers. They contain nothing but peat, enough for a start.
Here is another example, of a different size, slightly larger, there are several diameters in total, their height turns out to be about the same:
New verse, even two
But those pills, whose photo is below, surprised me. They are 10 cm high (so they swell)!
Cuttings can be rooted in these large peat tablets
In such cases, as they say: armed to the teeth?
Not without a puncture, one of the diameters turned out to be coconut tablets. There were complaints about them. Before using them, you must quickly rinse them with lukewarm water to wash out the sea salt. And the fiber itself always contains a lot of sodium, a competitor to potassium and other beneficial cations.
What will grow with us, then I will unsubscribe. The idea is good, there is a lot of air, nothing more. But sea salt can be very unnecessary, and rinsing will not help. And sodium is definitely superfluous. One thing is good, it seems to sit tightly in the fibers. So, it's clear that it's a dark matter :)
Unlike peat, coir does not form a hard crust on the surface if it is forgotten to moisturize.
What songs do you sing on the eve of the seedling season?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
