A familiar auto mechanic suggested an easy way to remove scratches from plastic in a car
Hello everyone, dear friends! In many budget cars, hard plastic is used in the cabin, on which scratches begin to appear during operation. These defects are insignificant, but they greatly spoil the aesthetic appearance of the interior.
Most often, scratches appear on the doors of the car (mainly in the lower part). When we go out, we can hook them with our foot or some kind of metal element that is on the clothes. This phenomenon is especially noticeable among those who often carry children in their car. Personally, after my restless fidgets, some traces always remain.
Previously, I did not pay much attention to all this, but when several small scratches appeared in the front near the glove compartment, this defect began to constantly plague my eyes.
And after my wife in the same place added a couple of deep scratches, caught by the brooch of my purse, I decided to somehow get rid of them, because the view had become generally inappropriate.
Once, having stopped by a service station, my acquaintance auto mechanic suggested one very simple and effective way to remove scratches from plastic. And now I will share this method with you.
First of all, the damaged area must be degreased or at least wiped with a damp cloth to get rid of dust. I don’t know about others, but dust appears very quickly in the interior of my car, since I often drive on dirt roads.
And then we need a regular construction hair dryer. We set the average temperature (it is possible a little more, but not to the maximum, for example, on my hairdryer I turned on the first speed and set the temperature a little less than the maximum).
And then with smooth movements we blow the unwanted scratch with a hot stream. The plastic will begin to soften slightly and the scratch will gradually heal. The most important thing here is not to overdo it. Half a minute and even from a deep scratch there will be practically no trace left. Small scratches disappear altogether, as if they did not exist at all. In this way, I was able to get rid of all visible defects on the plastic and the interior of my car became like new.
I hope this method will help you too and you will no longer be upset when you see a scratch on the plastic in your car's interior again.
