Made a bed for the nursery, and two years later ordered the second tier

Just yesterday I drove and installed the second tier for the children's bed, which I made two years ago.

Bunk beds are usually made as a single structure without dividing the tiers, but in this case it turned out to be done in parts.

The first part was made two years ago, and it was made like a sofa.

And before the New Year, my friends, who made this bed, contact me and ask me to make the second tier.

The coordination lasted perhaps longer than the production itself, because the mother of the children, for whom the bed was made, was concerned about the strength and reliability of the second tier. And it is right.

As a result, we came to such a decision (picture above). In practice, this second tier can be used as a separate bed.

The headboards are made with rigid frames. For long parts, a 7x5 cm bar serves as a support. In addition, corner stops are made from below.

On this, of course, all the actions to create strength did not end there. The second tier was still bolted to the wall behind the backrest, and the side backs were bolted to the first tier of the bed.

And the ladder is fixed at the top and bottom and, in addition, strengthens the front sidewall of the second tier with the upper right edge.

When the bed was assembled, the children's father pulled it from different sides and said: "So on top and I can sleep."

And next to the bed, a dollhouse, about which I told earlier. The cat has chosen the roof of this house. When I brought the parts of the bed for assembly, he lay sprawled asleep on the roof slopes.
