Laminate trimming table
Not long ago, my nephew brought me some pieces of laminate flooring. The first thought was: "What to do with him?" Then he looked at the other side and another thought came: "Smooth side, maybe upgrade your milling table?"
And here's what came of it. Scroll through the gallery.
I took a 15 mm piece of plywood as the basis for the table. Laminate was glued back side up on 88 glue. It turned out three stripes. Central in three parts.
I screwed a router to the central piece. I have a two-base router and a base without springs is well suited for installation on a table. Scroll through the gallery.
The platform is installed in the grooves of adjacent laminate sheets. I removed the handles from the base so as not to interfere during installation. The hole in the platform is made a couple of millimeters larger than in the base - enough for inserts.
I immediately made a groove in the table and glued in an aluminum profile for the carriage.
I put a block on top of the stop in which I made a T-shaped groove for installing clamps and stoppers.
This groove was made with a special cutter. With the same cutter, I made grooves in the tabletop, they serve to move and fix the stop.
Two movable laminate plates are installed under the top bar. They move apart along the cutter and are fixed with a wing on the back side.
In general, I am satisfied with the table, while I only milled the T-shaped groove for the top bar on it. The stop in the grooves of the table is fixed more easily and reliably than before, and earlier it moved along the grooves in the stop itself.
In my opinion, it turned out to be a successful use of scraps.
