(I will show you how it works at the very end, read carefully)
Probably many of you have come across the fact that the threaded connection is so rusted that it cannot be untwisted.
Or is it necessary to cut the threads with a die, but there are no suitable keys? The author offered his original solution to this problem.
So, on the review, the universal key for the garage do it yourself. I will analyze this instrument, and I hope my review will be useful to you.
Idea
Rated 3 out of 5
Locksmith work is often associated with the disassembly and installation of various mechanisms, for example, in the garage. And, of course, it does not do without working with various threaded connections.
For this purpose, each master has a fairly impressive set of different tools, including keys.
Toolmade do it yourself, can be used when performing various works, including for the installation of pipelines and pipeline fittings.
In general, the factory-made chain wrench also copes with this task, so the author receives only 3 points for the idea.
Design
Rated 4 out of 5
The construction of this instrument pretty simple. The author used a piece of small diameter pipe. I welded a nut to the end to fit the pipe. From the outside of the pipe I welded a roller chain and from the opposite side two screws so that they clearly pass between the chain links.
Next, the author took a threaded metal rod and screwed it into a cylindrical body. For convenience, he welded a small handle to the rod in a T-shape. By twisting this handle, you can create the desired chain tension.
In general, it turned out to be easy to use and quite reliable. tool. The only caveat is that plastic or rubber pads could be made on the cylindrical body so that your hands would not slip. The author receives 4 points for the construction.
Design
Rated 2 out of 5
This garage item was paintable. Therefore, I only gave 2 points.
Analogs
Rated 4 out of 5
Currently, on the tool market, the analogue of this device is a chain wrench, as well as open-end, ring, adjustable and pipe wrenches.
Since the author designed a wrench that can work not only with pipes, but also with other threaded connections, I decided to give it 4 points for its versatility.
Outcome
Rated 13 of 20
Universal garage key do it yourself scores 13 points out of 20. I think this product can take its rightful place among the tools, since it is quite versatile and can replace other similar tools if necessary.
