Why does she even need this copying sleeve for a router. After all, there are cutters with a bearing, an emphasis, templates ...
This question was raised in the comments to the article about a homemade copying sleeve for a router. You can view this article link.
In the current project, I have a task to make a series of oblique grooves in the workpiece.
It was possible, of course, to make such a groove according to a template made for a router and for this task. Or the device for making grooves, which I talked about here, but it turned out to be much easier to make a small template for the copy sleeve.
The groove for the copying sleeve in the plywood was made on milling table on the stop. And on the back side, I screwed a couple of bars along the markings.
I spent five minutes making this template.
It turned out to work with him too quickly. I made markings on the workpiece, fixed the template with clamps and made a groove in one pass.
In one pass it turned out to be done because I used a spiral cutter, which I purchased at
Ali express before the New Year, she allowed to make a groove 15 mm deep. in one pass. The problem of making such grooves could be solved without a copying sleeve, only the solution, as it seems to me, would be more cumbersome. And so - a small template, which is made very quickly, and the problem is solved.
