Electric plane and accessories for it
My electric plane will be 7 years old in the fall. Until now - a working tool.
I tried to calculate how many boards I stitched with it, it turned out only approximately - about 10 cubes - I was guided only by large volumes of work, I did not take into account small things. Basically it was a 25 mm pine board, although they also had a chance to plan beech and ash.
Planer model: Interskol R-82/710.
What I like about it is the relative lightness (3.5 kg), the cast flat sole, the cleanliness of the planing (14,000 rpm), the possibility of chamfering.
Equipment
Initially, the package included a stationary mount. I tried to use it a couple of times, but it turned out to be more convenient for me to plan without it.
From an additional hitch, this planer also has the option of taking a quarter. Once I even made a door frame with this device.
The complete set includes a bag for chips. It can be useful only for very small volumes of planing, and it works so well with a vacuum cleaner, there is an adapter for it in the kit.
Also included is a spare drive belt, but it never came in handy.
Repairs
In the first year of operation, the bearing on the drum had to be replaced. A year later I changed the cable. There was no need to repair it again.
Moreover, the spring at the plastic protection, from the side of the chip ejection, broke quite quickly, but this protection still closes the drum, falling under its own weight during planing.
I also noticed that the optimal planing depth is 1 mm. He also takes two millimeters, but it is felt that the engine is being loaded, and in this case it is difficult to drive the plane.
There are slight difficulties with setting the knives, but they can be solved.

Adaptations.
The knives for this plane are disposable, double-sided, but nevertheless they can be sharpened at least once.
How to make such a device can be read here.
In addition, this electric plane, until last autumn, served me as a jointer and a planer and quite successfully.
There is a detailed photo report on how this device was made.

In general, this electric planer proved to be a reliable tool, small in size, which is also convenient to take on the road.
