How to make a dovetail joint with a hand-held circular saw
This example shows the use of the standard features of a manual circular.
Comment. It is not recommended to repeat the example. There are safety violations
This connection will show the ability to cut at an angle and the ability to cut with different depths.
First, a thorn is made on the board.
The saw platform is set at an angle of 45 degrees, and the cutting depth is adjusted according to the thickness of the board, so that the saw teeth extend a couple of millimeters.
On the board, markings are made along the width of the bar.
Next, the first cut is made at an angle to markup. The saw platform rests on the plane of the board.
The second cut is made with support on the edge of the board. The board must be fixed, and to increase the support area, you can press the bar to the plane of the board with clamps, flush with the edge.
Next, with a hacksaw, cuts are made at an angle along the line marking the bar.
And the corners are chipped off with a chisel and the thorn is cleared.
Now the markings are made in the bar along the made spike.
And then, according to the marking, cuts are made at an angle. The marking line must be left on the timber. One cut is made on one side of the timber, and the other on the other side, in order to get cuts with an inclination to each other. The cutting depth is adjusted according to the thickness of the board.
Then, without changing the settings, you can make a lot of cuts to make it easier to choose a groove.
And now we gouge out with a chisel and clean up the groove.
And in the end, this is the connection
You can see how this was done in the video clip.
