How much concrete will come out of 1 bag of M 500 cement? Simple arithmetic!
How much cement should be purchased to prepare a certain amount of concrete? This question is relevant for many builders. After all, correct calculations can save money, space and time.
Insufficient quantities of purchased cement makes it necessary to spend time and effort on repeated purchases. If the cement is superfluous, then you have to look for ways to get it back or where to sell it. Therefore, the calculations should be as accurate as possible. In principle, I don't think it's worth talking about the importance of calculations! Everyone understands it!
Today we will talk about cement. This information will be useful for both beginners and more experienced builders.
How much concrete solution will come out of 1 bag of cement weighing 50 kg?
There are several main components in the composition of concrete:
- Binder component - cement,
- Large placeholder - rubble,
- Fine aggregate - sand,
- Stirrer - water.
In private construction, heavy concrete M 200, M 300 is usually used, which is made from cement grades M 400, M 500.
These brands are one of the most demanded and widespread, therefore we will take them as the basis for the forthcoming calculations. So, the initial data: bag of cement M 500 - 50 kg. From it you need to get concrete M 200. What is needed for this, and how much concrete will be released at the exit?
To obtain concrete M200, it is necessary to mix the components in the following proportions:
- Cement M 500 - 1 kg. (we have 50 kg.),
- Crushed stone - 5 kg. (we need 5 * 50 = 250 kg.)
- Sand - 3.3 kg. (we need 3.3 * 50 = 165 kg.)
- Water - 0.8 kg. (we need 0.8 * 50 = 40 liters).
Let me remind you that 1 kg. water is 1 liter of water.
But 1 kg. cement (sand, crushed stone) not equal 1 kg. cement (sand, crushed stone).
In order to calculate the weight of concrete that we get, add up all the mass indicators - 50 + 250 + 165 + 40 = 505 kg.
As a result, we conclude that from 50 kg. cement M 500 we get 505 kg. concrete M 200.
From 1 kg. cement M 500 - 9.1 kg. concrete M 200.
But, as a rule, builders often need information not about the mass of the concrete solution, but about the volumes. Therefore, it is necessary to make a conversion from the mass of concrete to cubic meters.
1 cubic meter of concrete M 200 is equal to 2279 kg.
This means the volume of concrete M 200, obtained from a bag of M 500 cement weighing 50 kg. Is 0.22 m3.
Conclusion: From 1 bag of M 500 cement weighing 50 kg. it turns out concrete M 200 weighing 505 kg and a volume of 0.22 m3.
Here is such a seemingly simple arithmetic!
