Earlier on the channel I talked about my small planer-thicknessing machine Bison.

Some will not even count it as a machine, but nevertheless, it has been working for me for a year, and it is quite enough for the house.

But this is not actually about that. In the comments to publications on this machine, it sounded that it is difficult to get knives. This is actually not the case.

Not so long ago, I planed old boards on it and no matter how I tried to remove all the nails from the boards, I caught one nail. And no more for knives.

Immediately I regretted that I had no spare knives, but there was nothing I needed to sharpen these. He sharpened the knives using a small wooden device that allows you to sharpen two knives at once and at the desired angle.

I started to sharpen it by hand, but I quickly realized that it would take a long time to clean the hole from the nail. Then I remembered about a belt sander and decided to try to clean the hole with it. It turned out quickly. Then I adjusted the sharpening by hand and you can plan again.

For all this action: take off the knives, sharpen and put them back, it took me 30-40 minutes.

And I ordered spare knives on the same day on aliexpress. They promised for delivery about a month, but it came in two weeks.

The markings on the knives turned out to be exactly the same as those of the "relatives" installed in the machine. They cost me about 800 rubles.

At first glance, the sharpening of these knives from the box is normal, but it will be more understandable when I put them in the machine.

There is now a second pair for quick replacement.
