I am telling you a way to make a jointer from a circular saw. Simple adaptation

Greetings.

On the channel, I already mentioned using the circular saw as a jointer. Here I will tell you how you can make this device.

In fact, the whole task comes down to using a board made in a certain way, which must be fixed to the parallel stop of the circular.

In order not to "perforate" the parallel emphasis once again, I decided to use a simple multifunctional device on which it is convenient to hang various devices.

His device is quite simple - these are two rectangular parts, the same length and with different heights. They are connected by a bridge so that the distance between them is the same as the thickness of the rip fence.

This block is worn on top of the rip fence, can be used as a carriage, or it can be fixed. Furniture fittings with M6 thread are embedded in it for attaching the hinge.

To begin with, I attached a flat board to this block. He made the fastening with bolts, and made the holes in the board so that the bolts could be screwed into the installed furniture fittings.

Next, you need to prepare this board so that it can serve as a support for planing.

To do this, the parallel stop was fixed so that the edge of the board was flush with the edge of the disc.

Then, I lowered the module with the board screwed onto the working saw blade, so that the center of the saw blade roughly coincided with the center of the board.

The board can now be pushed forward and cut from the middle to the edge. If you do this right away, then when planing, the saw blade will remove material to its thickness, usually about 2 mm. You can also stop the saw, move the rip fence and cut 1mm deep.

After preparing the board, the fixture is adjusted so that the outer edge of the saw blade is flush with the plane of the board.

I have successfully used this device in my projects, for example, on the channel you can see the manufacture of a bathroom cabinet. Here this link leads to the final part and it contains links to all the parts for making this cabinet.

And as an example, the photo below shows the alignment of a pair of boards using this device.

In more detail and clearly about how this device was made, see the video clip.

Thanks for reading. I would be glad to have your support in the form of a like and a subscription to the channel. And see other publications on the channel.
