Four variants of box connections that can be made with a circular saw. Part 2
Greetings.
I continue to talk about box connections that can be made with a circular saw.
And here I will consider connections with an angle of 45.
Third connection
This connection is very similar to the previous one and is done in much the same way.
If you haven't read about the first two connections with right angles, then see the link at the end of the article.
The markup is also done first.
Here, the grooves and spikes are marked at 1/3 of the part thickness. I made the inner spike and, accordingly, the groove for 2/3 of the thickness of the workpiece, although it can be made for 1/3 - as in the second connection.
To make thorns, the central part is first cut out.
The disc rises to the thickness of the workpiece. First, two cuts are made to mark the boundaries. To do this, just adjust the distance from the stop to make one extreme cut, and then just turn the part 180 and make the second cut. Next, choose what is left in the middle.
For this, a multifunctional device is used, which you can read about here.
The miter fence is used for the second workpiece.
Next, the disc is tilted 45 degrees and the corners are cut on the parts
Corners can be cut in a variety of ways. In the second photo, cropping is done with a vertical clamping of the part.
And in the end, this is the connection.
Fourth connection
This type of connection is fairly straightforward.
Here, the ends of the workpieces are first cut at 45 degrees.
Next, you need to make a cut for the key.
The saw blade height is adjusted to approximately 2/3 of the workpiece thickness.
You can make such a cut along the parallel stop, which is installed tightly to the disc. I used L-shaped stop.
After such preparation, the parts can be connected.
You can saw the dowels of the same thickness using the method shown here.
More details and visualization of the manufacture of these connections can be seen in the video.
