How to make a cladding board with your own hands quickly and inexpensively

Greetings.

About three years ago they called me to help with the arrangement of the dacha. The task was to build a household block with a toilet. In a simple way, you needed a shed to store garden tools, fertilizers, hoses, buckets, etc.

A small strip foundation has already been made, beams 10x10 cm have been delivered. and about two cubes of edged boards 25 mm. The board was not the best, there were quite a few boards with wane, and of course it was damp

If you immediately sheathe such a board without processing, then after a while the walls will glow through and through from many cracks.

Of the power tools, I had a hand circular and an electric plane.

I decided to plan the boards for the sheathing, so that in the future it would be easier to paint them, and I also came up with the idea of ​​cutting off the edge of this board at an angle of 45 °. With this preparation, the boards fit well with an overlap, without gaps, and the wall remained flat.

Below in the figure you can see the type of board that was made and the layout of the sheathing.

When such a sheathing dries out, a wide overlap will eliminate through cracks.

A bunch of triangular scraps left over after the preparation of the boards, almost all went to the strips between the logs of the log cabin of the country house, and what remained was useful as pegs for tomatoes.

After some time, other friends asked to make a country shower and the same raw edged board was used as a material for making it.

I decided to use the already tried and tested method of processing boards. And this is what happened using only a hand circular and an electric plane.

This is certainly not a lining, but making such a cladding board is quick and inexpensive.
