Understand, forgive... tomato bush
Detective story
Once in my greenhouse 3 bushes of tomatoes Velikosvet F1 froze (stopped growing), grew knee-deep and stand green.
I removed the first brushes with buds, at that time it was advised so. And so, all the varieties are already one meter next to each other, they bloom, tied, and they are handsome, powerful ones, they do not grow.
Of course, I did something. Unfortunately, I do not remember what exactly, but most importantly, they grew and bore fruit perfectly.
I think this competition between ions played such a joke. Plus the stress of removing the flower brush.
There was nothing to scold the Great World.
Other stories, oh-oh-very scary
The tomato bush grew frail, frail, tied two tiny fruit. In the fall, she pulled him out, and his roots are smaller than the fist of a child and are plastered over with some kind of infection. How is he still alive, poor fellow!
There was also a healthy cherry. And suddenly the leaves began to dry out, completely bald. But he bore fruit to the last. Then it turned out that the beetle was eating up his roots. Cherry donated leaves ...
I mean, the life of the tomato bush is full of invisible incidents. Therefore, I never scold a variety or a specific bush.
And if they hang green for a long time
This is the most burning question, why tomatoes are in no hurry to ripen for a long time, after all, it's time!? Gardeners usually just start to pick off the leaves, remove some of the brushes, pinch the tops, they say, come on quickly! Here's stress for you, come on! They also stop watering.
And this is the opinion of the bush, they say, it's too early for me to ripen. And why? It is necessary to guess, and not drive in the search: "How to accelerate the ripening of tomatoes." If the threat of late blight or frost, of course, must be accelerated. Tomatoes are for us, not us for tomatoes.
I conducted an experiment: I pinched the top of one tomato over the second brush, another bush grew freely. Both led into one stem. I removed the ripe lower brushes from them in one day, and the weight of the brushes was exactly the same, gram per gram.
Therefore, I think some of our manipulations with tomatoes are useless or harmful. Until we understand and forgive the plant for growing as it can under its conditions.
I choose varieties if they are satisfied:
- Our soil
- Our temperature swings and summer heat
- My agricultural technology
Remember the song:
“You don't mold them well,
You don't love them enough
If it goes bad again
Don't call them that anymore. "
That's roughly on this principle, I love tomatoes, I try to help if I can, but I never scold.
I would be grateful if you share your experience.
If you agree with at least part of the reasoning, please like it :)
