Ax repair according to American technology

Personally, it seemed to me complete stupidity, although such a technology takes place in the event that an apocalypse happened on earth and there is nowhere to take a new ax.

And so we proceed to the review. Here we have such an ax.

It has already worked pretty well and its place is rather in the furnace firebox.

But the Americans are brave guys and don't just give up. To begin with, we cut off everything unnecessary so that nothing sticks out of the eyelet.

Then we cut out such a patch from a sheet of metal, exactly in the shape of the eyelet.

We weld this patch to the head of the ax. So that, in general, the mosquito does not stick his nose. Next, we clean the whole thing with a grinding wheel.

Now the most ingenious begins. We take a glue stick and a hair dryer. We melt the rod and generously coat this section of the ax with it.

Fill with glue thoroughly so that it goes into all possible holes.

Further more. You need to stuff the glue sticks into the eyelet and heat it with a gas burner. You can try to heat it up with a construction hairdryer, but this is a different technology))

In short, we cook just such a porridge from glue sticks and mix it all well with a stick.

Now we pour a tablespoon of ordinary soda into our glutinous soup.

The mixture begins to harden quickly, but do not give up, continue to heat with the burner and stir the glue and soda until smooth.

Now we take the hatchet and install it in its original place. Of course, some of this glue mixture will come out, but this is not fatal)))

After the ax has cooled down, we take a grinder and cut off all the remnants of the glue mass, since this glue, mixed with soda, turns into stone and cannot be easily peeled off.

So that is all. We wrap the ax handle and the ax blade with masking tape, paint it black.

Here we have such an ax. Looks almost like new.
