Making a 12 Volt air dryer
Greetings to the readers of the Kulibins channel, and today another interesting homemade product is on your court. We will make an air dryer for shoes that runs on 12 volts and is made in 20 minutes.
The effectiveness of such a shoe dryer is debatable. If we take for comparison an electric dryer with heating elements, which works on the principle evaporation of moisture due to temperature, it will dry out shoes faster than air shoes, which removes moisture through circulation air. But in terms of energy consumption, an air dryer is much more economical, although it will take twice as long to dry.
Let's start making. We need a regular fan from a computer, which requires 12 volts to work. And of course the power supply unit under, which can be used as a charger from a mobile phone.
We will use a plastic electrical junction box with rubber plugs as the dryer body.
In the role of injection lines for air, we will use just such a corrugated pipe for electrical cables.
And of course the fastening elements in the form of bolts and nuts just to fix the fan to the case. Although this is not necessary, since the fan can simply be placed on the glue.
In the cover of the junction box, we drill holes for air intake by the fan.
We immediately make holes for the bolts with which we will attach the fan to the cover. It is clear that the fan itself must first be attached to the lid and outline the attachment points)) I just in case reminded it, suddenly someone blunts)))
We fasten the fan to the lid with bolts or, as mentioned above, use ordinary super glue. Before installing the fan, make sure that it will rotate in the right direction and will suck in air through the holes drilled in the cover.
To connect the power supply, this connector is used, into which the plug of the charger is inserted. If there is nothing to do, you can additionally solder the switch)) But I think that these are unnecessary troubles and I will connect the adapter directly.
In the housing of the junction box, make a hole for the power connector and glue it to the glue.
Now we connect the discharge pipes, for this we first cut off the rubber plugs from the box. Probably no need to remind that the cut of the plugs is selected according to the diameter of the pipe so that the connection is tight.
Next, we connect the corrugated tubes as shown in the photo. Choose the length of each tube at your discretion, but I think that 50-60 centimeters is enough.
We close the box lid and our dryer is ready. It looks like this.
We connect the power supply to the fan, insert the pipes into the shoes and you're done. The dryer works very quietly, almost silently. So silent that you can even forget about it. Therefore, if there is absolutely nothing to do, then you can additionally connect a red LED and place it in a box, which will signal that the device is working.
That's all, Well, now, by tradition, I am waiting for your feedback on the usefulness and relevance of such a shoe dryer. I accept rational suggestions for improving the design.
And do not forget to click like !!))
