Examples of the cost of connecting a private house to the main gas. Why is it so expensive and what to do?

The article There is no main gas for heating in Eastern Siberia. The reason that is not customary to talk about many readers wrote their comments with information on the cost of connecting a private house to a gas pipeline. I have selected some of these comments:

And this situation is not only in Russia. Recently I talked with a friend living in Crimea. He was building a house (at the time when Crimea was Ukrainian). The old house had a working gas connection. The house was demolished - the pipe interfered. He closed the pipe and cut it off. But in order to bring 10-15 m of a gas pipe into a new house - a specialized company also asked for a large sum: 2 thousand. $.

As you can see, regardless of geography, the cost of connecting to the main gas, even if the pipe passes behind your section, is from 150-200 thousand. rub. Why such a cost? After all, a gas pipe is technologically no more complicated than a water pipe. There are, of course, its own characteristics - as waterproofing with special compounds and electrocorrosion protection. But there must be many times more costs!

You can also understand when such a complex work is happening - connecting to a high-pressure main pipe.

The main explanation for this estimate is the need for pressure reduction stations. Yes, if it is the main pipe, then you cannot bring gas into the house without such infrastructure. It must be built near every city where the gas pipeline enters. And if all this is already there and a low-pressure pipe runs along the village?

The main reason for such prices is the monopoly of companies that provide design services and connection to the main gas, we read an example:

The cost of work is several times, or even an order of magnitude, different from the price lists. Lack of competition under capitalism in the social sphere is a very bad thing. In Soviet times, there were norms and each organization was engaged in planning. Everything was without such super-profits.

Now, if some private shop sees that it can indicate any costs - so it does. Even if the numbers are unfounded. And the less often a service is provided on the market, the more they invest in their services profit.

This question was clarified. What is there to do? Nobody canceled the freedom of choice. It is clear that in the village 200-300 thous. rub. and more to find a problem and they have no choice but to heat with wood or coal. If you are building a house in the place where gas passes, then include the costs of connection in the estimate of the house.

You can build a small frame house and heat it with electricity. It is especially beneficial to do this in the Irkutsk region (the lowest electricity tariffs in the country).

Some companies recommend alternatives to main gas: bury the gas tank and bring the gas in gas carriers. At cost it will be 500 thousand, but on the other hand, you will not depend on solid energy sources (coal, pellets, firewood). But they do not say that the cost of heating with imported gas from a gas tank is even more expensive than coal. And you need to fill the gas tank at a time. You need to lay out at least 50 thous. rub. to the gas station. There is a better option:

Nowadays, a good alternative to all types of heating has appeared - these are heat pumps. In mild climates with frosts up to -15gr. the system will do Air-to-air or air-to-water. For Siberia - geothermal "Soil-water" or "water-water". I wrote about it here

These systems have the same cost as connecting to the main gas pipeline: from 200 thous. (air-to-air). Geothermal system on wells - from 400 thous. But the cost of heating will be comparable to the cost of main gas (there are examples as below).

Well, in conclusion, I would like to call for social responsibility the persons on whom the development of the country's social infrastructure depends. Foreign policy in establishing relations with neighboring countries through gas supplies to their regions is undoubtedly good. Friendship of peoples, backed by mutual benefit. But you also need to think about your own residents. We need some kind of program to subsidize the connection to the main gas. At least for young families or for people of pre-retirement age.

Or another option. If there is no fair competition in these services for connecting to the pipe, then take control of the situation, give everything to one hand with clear pricing. How do you control this (at least so declare) in the tariffs for heat and electricity. And so that everyone could see all the transparency of this pricing. And without super-profits, because it is social. Otherwise it turns out: we have everything in our country, but we ourselves are selling it at inadequate prices. Here's an idealistic message ...

In some regions, the government still thinks about the people. Here is a recent example from Crimea:

Those. now in Crimea it is possible to connect a private house to the main gas for an amount of about 100 thousand. rub. The cost of building a house is no longer such a large amount.

The main thing is that in other regions the federal or regional governments start moving in this direction ...
