Do-it-yourself edge parquet from saw cuts and parquet with 3D-pattern

The saw cut floor is the simple name for this technology. Among the masters, the name sounds like a floor from end parquet. As in other cases, it makes sense to do such a floor with your own hands in only one thing - if there is savings or to get an exclusive look:

At first glance, everything looks good. I propose to calculate, understand the pros and cons and how it is mounted.

Parquet cost for example. These are expensive floors. Using the technology shown below, you can make floors at a cost of ~ 500 rubles / m2. For 20 m2, you will need 1m3 of sawed cuts with a size of 100x150x5 cm. And 1m3 of boards cost 8000 rubles. But you need a dry board, preferably chamber-dried. Plus you need parquet glue and varnish.

It will be difficult to cut floors from saw cuts of this section - you need a circular saw of a large diameter. Or such cuts will have to be ordered. And this is a different cost. Even floors made of saw cuts from a bar of 150x150 will not be sawn with a conventional circular saw. Yes, and we do not need cracks in a dry timber: they will have to be filled with epoxy resin. Also additional costs. Therefore, we will postpone this option.

1. We do this. We buy a chamber drying timber 150x100 cm. And from it we saw the end parquet 5 cm thick.

2. The result of the work. Our parquet can be made with a brushed surface. To do this, after laying it, you need to walk with a grinder with a wire nozzle, and then with a nylon nozzle. This procedure will replace sanding.

3. Glue on parquet glue. If you have hardwood floors, then you will level them with plywood to obtain an even base. If the concrete floor is flat, then it is possible on it, but the floors must be waterproofed with polyurethane varnish. Make a gap against the wall (the parquet will expand with changes in humidity and temperature).

Result. Next, we do brushing or simply sanding. We remove all dust with a vacuum cleaner and cover it with wear-resistant polyurethane varnish for wood. After the floor is varnished in 2-3 layers, it will not be so sensitive to changes in humidity and cracking.

You can play with the direction of the pattern of parquet bars - lay them with a herringbone.

This is, so to speak, an economical version of natural wood floors. Below are the options that are used in exclusive interiors. But you can also do it yourself with a sufficient level of skill:

Wooden parquet floors are always beautiful. But, for some reason, those who purchase this coating are laid like a laminate. It turns out that parquet can be laid with a 3D pattern - you get a much more attractive and more exclusive look of the interior:

To install such a pattern, you will need block parquet in three different shades. Or a parquet board (followed by smooth sawing). An interesting drawing for interiors in a classic style. 3D-patterned parquet flooring with a dark square element in the center lends depth and dimension - like a box floor.

Parquet board cost. For a three-dimensional drawing, three shades are needed. Yes, parquet is expensive. But maybe somewhere in the living room it would be worth it to create this look. Parquet is made of hard wood with drying in vacuum chambers. The surface is less resistant to scratches than laminate, but the parquet can always be repaired by re-coating it with a new layer of varnish.
