Decorative coating on concrete through a stencil. Part 2
Previous part
There is a way for concrete paths or blind areas, for those cases when concrete has been poured for a long time, but you want to get a decorative surface on it. You can create a beautiful decorative surface on concrete that has already gained strength. Tiles, tiles are not an option, because there is a risk that everything will fall off in 1-2 winters.
Such a coating on concrete is obtained through a stencil with the application of tile adhesive mixed with polymers. Finished with polyurethane varnishes. This is the best way to achieve a wear resistant surface. There are compounds that are not afraid of UV radiation from the sun and can be used for outdoor decoration.
You need a special stencil grid. Where to make it - there will be information below. We apply the polymer composition, wait for its initial polymerization and remove the stencil. Experiment on a test surface before doing your main job.
Roller with technology for creating surfaces in interiors:
The composition is kneaded from tile glue, acrylic paint (or primer) and pigment (dye). For application, use a spray gun (you need a compressor to work) with an L-shaped nozzle for the container (since the nozzle is inclined vertically downward). After application, the surface is smoothed with a spatula. Carefully peel off the film. Finally, the site is covered with polyurethane varnish for durability. Looks like glued tiles.
Stencil technology is also used on the walls. Everything is done the same way. But the stencil must be with an adhesive backing. Or we fix it at the top on double-sided tape, and then it sticks to the wall. Apply a thin layer of plaster, smooth and remove the stencil.
There were videos where plasterers were making a stencil from masking tape. An inexpensive option, but a long process - you need to mark everything up by level.
A more efficient and durable stencil option is to use plastic stencils. In this example - under the brickwork. They leaned back, applied plaster, removed the stencil. Or they applied plaster first, and then make an impression. These stencils can be ordered from organizations that are engaged in laser cutting materials.
Another variant of this technology for decorating concrete surfaces: simply paint the concrete floors with acrylic paint and protect it with acrylic or polyurethane varnish. Order stencils from advertising companies where there is plotter cutting from cardboard, thick PVC film or banner fabric.
The stencil will be durable from such a PVC film. Its thickness is different: from fractions to several millimeters. Sold by specialized companies. It is used by organizations that mount flexible windows for loggias and gazebos.
The cost of plotter cutting for 1 r.m. and the cost of banner fabric.
