Let there be light! Or how to make a room brighter without having to increase the number of lamps
What if the room is deprived of a decent "supply" of sunlight, for example, in view of the architectural idea of the builders, who equipped it with only a small gap, proudly named - a window?! Try to get the most out of what you have and add "secondary lights". BUT not the usual spotlights, chandelier or sconces ...
Good afternoon dear friends!
And to use other design techniques and tricks, confirming that many lamps are not the only solution in this "light theorem". Therefore, today I prepared 5 alternative ideas that will help you not only provide a room with light, but also make it more comfortable and "warm", while not placing additional lamps in it!
After all, not everyone has the opportunity (physical, financial ...) to change the number of light sources in the room, and their increase is a decent cost of electricity!
1.Mirror wall. As a rule, a mirror (or mirrored panels) is always preferred in a miniature room in which it is necessary to visually expand the boundaries. But this is not its only plus! It can also add light to the room. At the same time, in order to achieve maximum results, it must be hung / installed so that it reflects the sun's rays, thereby enhancing the natural light in the room.
This technique looks very beneficial and effective in a small bathroom, a small hallway or in an oblong bedroom.
2.Glossy finishing materials. Choosing light colors in the interior is already the first step towards creating a "radiant" atmosphere in your room. What if these whites and pastels are complemented by reflective finishes? Then such a bright "sponsorship" will automatically increase 100%! So try to use reflective wall paint, glossy ceramic tiles, furniture fronts, or glossy stretch ceilings.
And then the thought of additional lighting in the form of electrical points (lamps, sconces ...) will no longer overtake you!
3.Glass partition. Light imperfections in a room can give impetus to more radical adjustments, which in addition will change the architectural boundaries of the space. For example, to demolish a wall and replace it with a glass partition. Why not? Especially if the adjacent room is literally "bathed" in an abundance of light ?!
After all, glass is a fashionable material that freely transmits light and makes the room not only brighter, but also more spacious and elegant.
4.Reflective furniture. Again, we turn to the specular effect to enhance the light. But not to a full-fledged wall of mirrors, but to furniture - its facade. After all, furniture with such a surface works on "two fronts"! It not only, together with artificial and natural light, increases the overall lighting in the room, but also looks very impressive, rich and aesthetically pleasing.
And the solution is less expensive in financial terms, compared to a mirrored wall!
5.No blackout curtains. No, curtains, of course, can be! But only light and transparent, so that they do not interfere with the passage of natural light into the room from the street.
Undoubtedly, "heavy" curtains are a favorite technique of people, whose room windows face south or east! But here you have to make a choice: either light and hot, or dark and cool. As the saying goes: "you can't sit on two chairs."
And what did you do during the repair and home improvement, to bring a ray of light to your dark kingdom? For example, I'm in my townhouse, thanks to my wife's persistence and the ability to add mass light sources, provided in advance about 100 all kinds of lamps, sconces, backlights for steps, etc.
