How to grow strong and healthy tomato seedlings

Healthy and robust seedlings are a guarantee of a bountiful harvest. Its quality depends on many factors: quality of seeds and soil, lunar phases, proper planting, care. If you follow the strict sequence of the following principles, you are guaranteed an ideal seedling. I collected information from experienced summer residents, agronomists and based on my own experience.

Seeds and soil

At the beginning, all seeds should be sorted out from damaged and spoiled seeds. After sorting, the seeds should be pickled from diseases and fungi in a weak solution of potassium permanganate (you can skip this point if you decide to use purchased seeds).

As for the soil for future tomato seedlings, everything is much simpler - tomatoes are not particularly demanding on the soil. Tomatoes are drought-resistant, calmly refers to the increased acidity of the soil, and has an average gluttony.

Moon calendar

It should be remembered that tomato seedlings must be sown 50-65 days before planting them in a greenhouse or in open ground. Do not forget about the lunar phases, because it depends on them "where" its growth will go. The worst time to plant tomato seedlings is the new moon and full moon. Tomatoes should be planted before the full moon and after the new moon.

Landing

Seeds are planted in special seedling cups or trays. If the seeds are large, then they can be planted one at a time per hole.

If you plant in trays, then we plant the seeds at a distance of about 3 cm from each other, to a depth of about 3-4 cm. The containers are covered with foil and placed near sources of light and heat. It can be any warm and sunny window.

Care

Seedlings require watering every 1-2 days. It is necessary to monitor the moisture content of the soil and the amount of light, otherwise the seedlings may die from drying out or sunburn.
