Aerated concrete / aerated concrete does not hold fasteners: homemade lazy anchor
In construction, aerated concrete and foam concrete are very popular. Initially, you need to know all the shortcomings of the material. For example, aerated concrete / foam concrete does not hold fasteners. What to do?
When attaching a drain, ventilation facade, horizontal bar, railings, shelves, etc. problems arise. How to fix heavy structures in porous walls?
At this density, the fasteners do not hold. Awkward movement will destroy the material. Even if you can hardly fix an ordinary self-tapping screw or dowel nails, then under loads this place will crumble.
Fasteners for foam blocks and gas blocks
There is a dowel for foam concrete on sale. When you screw it in, the spacer parts come off and block the loss of fasteners and the destruction of blocks. But hammering such dowels is a real problem, the side struts can be deformed.
There are dowels with wide threads, which, according to manufacturers, do not allow the cellular structure of the blocks to collapse. That's right, such fasteners are more suitable. It will not come out of the wall because there are wide ribs (carving).
The metal dowel, according to many, is the most durable when compared to polymer dowels. They can be used to attach heavy shelves, front fixtures, etc. It is better to choose galvanized fasteners.
Self-tapping screws for wood are screwed in very easily, but very soon they loosen, and the hole in the block is painted. If you use self-tapping screws, then only with a spacer anchor. There is a chemical anchor. He is the leader among other fasteners. Consists of screw, injection compound and sleeve. It will last a long time, but it costs cosmic money.
There is a cheaper and more reliable way
We use installation water-repellent cement. Let's make a chemical anchor with our own hands.
So, nails, screws do not fit, and the thinner the fasteners, the easier it is to break, crumble blocks.
We take a drill and make holes in the wall (reverse cone):
Remove dust from holes in blocks. Can be blown out with a vacuum cleaner. We process the hole with a primer.
Now we prepare a solution from installation water-repellent cement. It will protect the fasteners from corrosion. This solution is quite strong and begins to solidify literally through 3-5 minutes. After a day, you can start fastening. The frozen solution is so strong that you need to work with a drill with a chiseling mode. So, we made a hole and now you can screw in any fasteners.
It's even easier to make a lazy anchor
We make a hole with a drill 14 for wood. Then blow out the dust from the inside with a regular cocktail tube, prime and seal the hole with a mortar from assembly cement. Immediately insert any fasteners (for example, a simple bolt with a diameter of 6 mm.), But with the head inward. Smooth the solution and wait for about 2-5 hours. Holds securely.
