Why not tiling from the edge of the wall: correct installation from the center
When working with tiles, it is important to take into account all the nuances. Not everyone thinks about which side to properly lay ceramic wall tiles. It's different with floor tiles. The centering principle is not very important. The walls are always open to view, so the tiles should be laid from the center. The beauty and clarity of the pattern as a whole depends on the styling.
By the way, if the premises are being renovated as a whole, then the laying of tiles should be started from the walls, not from the floor. The bottom row of tiles should be installed last.
They usually lay out no more than 2 rows to avoid tile slipping. Let the tiles dry and continue laying the rows. To make it easier to lay the material on the walls (for the bottom row), a rail is attached.
In this case, there are two ways of centering: when the seam between the tiles is aligned with the axis of the wall, and when the center of the tile is aligned.
It would be more correct to draw a diagram of the room and draw a tile diagram. After that, start styling. If there is an external corner, then you need to lay it from this place. An uncut tile edge must be placed on the corner.
If you lay the tiles from the corner of the wall, then in most cases you will need to trim the tiles.
The tile will be trimmed on one side. If the tile is patterned, it will not look symmetrical. Such styling will look unprofessional and not beautiful.
If the tile is laid out from the center of the wall, then the tile will fit equally along both edges. The pattern or drawing will look more harmonious. Agree that the second drawing is preferable to the first.
The cut tile under the ceiling does not look very advantageous. It is best to plan so that the trimmed material is placed in the bottom row along the floor. There it will be unnoticeable.
It is better to place the tiles near the bathtub so that the seam goes (hides) below the side of the bathtub. This is more correct.
