Without exception, all hostesses living in different corners of the immense planet use cooking black pepper peas, because it is one of the most common aromatic spices.

As a rule, in any modern supermarket or store you can buy a sachet or jar of seasoning. But if desired, the hostesses can grow spices on their own and for this it is unnecessary to have a personal plot, a window sill in the apartment is enough.

Peas grow in the form of a tree-like liana, and if all the conditions necessary for it are created, you can get the long-awaited fruits 2 years after sowing the seedlings.

The seeds used are regular peas, which can be purchased at any store. Before buying pepper, be sure to study the date of manufacture, because after lying in the package for a year, the peas may not germinate.

Before sending the seed into the ground, soak it in water heated to +50 degrees for a day. Be sure to change the water four times within 24 hours. All seeds that float to the surface must be removed, they will not release sprouts.

In order for the seedlings to germinate, an air temperature of + 25-28C is needed, therefore sowing work should be carried out in the summer. For planting, you will need a pot that can hold no more than 2 seeds.

Cover the peas with glass or plastic. Send the pots to a shaded area out of direct sunlight.

A month later, in some cases a little earlier, the first shoots will appear, after which the covering material should be removed.

For peas to thrive, they need moist soil. Never let the soil dry out. Watering should be done regularly with moderate amounts of water.

If the plant grows in a room where it is constantly hot, the vines should be sprayed with a spray bottle and warm water. In autumn and winter, irrigation must be halved.

When the plant releases its first paired leaves, start fertilizing. For this it is allowed to use:
Organic (dilute chicken droppings with water in a ratio of 1 to 20);
Complex mineral fertilizers suitable for decorative foliage plants.

From March to September, the vine should be fertilized every week. With the onset of cold weather, it is unnecessary to make any preparations.
Only two years later, the plant will delight the owner with its flowering.

Small white flowers will appear on the vines, after which green berries will begin to form, which will eventually turn yellow or red. To make the berries turn black, send them to dry in the sun.

If you want the peas to have a milder flavor, remove the top skins from them and they will turn white.

One spike-shaped inflorescence brings about 30 peas. If you take care of the plant properly, you can harvest the fruit several times a year.
