During colds, milk is boiled and drunk hot with butter and honey. All these dishes are very healthy, but there is one small drawback - the milk boils very quickly and can "run away" or burn.

To keep track of the capricious product and not let it flood the stove, you have to stand above the pan. without leaving for a minute.

This is very inconvenient, because the hostesses always have a lot to do. How do you solve this problem?

It turns out that a simple solution has been around for many years. Back in the days of the Soviet Union, the so-called "milk watchman" was produced.

This device was manufactured at a diesel locomotive plant in the city of Kolomna.

It looked like a disc and fit into the bottom of the pan. Before the milk boiled, the disc began to rattle and attract attention. The disc also warmed up earlier than the milk.

Bubbles formed in the holes of the watchman, which rose to the top and did not allow the film to appear. The milk could boil for a while without scorching or flowing over the edges of the pan.

This useful invention was in great demand in those distant years, because milk was still sold in bulk in its raw form. It was brought immediately fresh from the farms and people bought the product, pouring it into various containers.

To preserve milk for a longer period and, of course, get rid of germs, the housewives boiled milk. A milk keeper was simply vital in every kitchen.

I was very fortunate to discover this wonderful invention at my grandmother's house. I don't boil milk often, but the milk keeper came in handy for making coffee.

True, you have to cook the drink in a small saucepan, and not in a Turk. But on the other hand, in the morning I do not have to rush to wash the gas stove from the escaped coffee.

Now I am calmly going to work and do not worry that I can miss the time of boiling coffee and it will flood the stove.

I want to say that having convinced myself from my own experience, such simple inventions are very much needed in the household.

I don't know if these gadgets are sold in stores now, but in case you can buy it, you will be very lucky. Any hostess will not refuse such a wonderful helper and will be happy with a useful purchase.
