What is the most profitable broiler for growing at home.
Recently, the owners of private houses have started raising broilers, which are a mixture of selected breeds of chickens. They grow very quickly, thanks to the best qualities of the breeds of poultry whose genes they took.
After a short time, you will become the owners of at least 3 kg of meat from one bird. Of course, it is not necessary to wait until the chickens gain this weight, you can chop broilers weighing from 1.5 to 2 kg.
There are 4 most popular crosses that are preferred for keeping in a rural courtyard.
Brief characteristics of popular sneakers:
1. Ross-308
Broilers of this cross have white plumage, pale skin and a red comb. They belong to the early ripening cross. The bird grows in 2 months to 2-2.5 kg. Broilers have a rounded body shape.
It is not recommended to keep this cross for more than 2 months, because they stop growing. Broilers contain a gene for dwarfism, which at some point stops the growth of the bird.
Continuing to feed them with even the most active additives, you will not achieve anything, you will only waste time and money.
At poultry farms, broilers of this cross grow only up to 1.5 kg. This is the preferred carcass weight among buyers.
2. Cobb-500
Unlike Ross-308, broilers of this cross have yellowish skin. This makes the carcass look more appetizing. The plumage of broilers is white, the comb is deep red. They have a more elongated body shape compared to the first cross.
Cobb-500 broilers can grow up to 2.5 kg in just 1.5 months. At this age, they should be slaughtered, because then they either stop growing or grow so slowly that it becomes very expensive to contain them.
3. Arbor Aycres
Broilers of this cross also have white plumage and a strong elongated body. Their legs are short yellow. The skin also has a yellowish tint.
This bird can grow up to 6 kg. But in most cases, a bird weighing 4-4.5 kg is taken for slaughter. This cross is ideal for those who prefer white meat: they have the largest sternum.
A small drawback of broilers of this cross is that their legs are not always capable of supporting the large weight of the bird: they fall to their feet and should be immediately sent to slaughter.
The main growth of the bird lasts up to 2.5 months.
4. Hubbard
This cross is the largest cross. They, like all broiler species, have white feathers. The scallop of the bird is pinkish. The body shape is similar to that of normal chickens, but larger
Hubbards, when properly fed and cared for, can grow up to 8-10 kg. Their growth continues up to 4-5 months with good feeding and care.
