Relocation instead of demolition: prefabricated houses from a German architect
Features of modular houses from Alexis Dornier, which can be disassembled and transported to a new location in a few hours
Building a new house in Bali is a problem. The fact is that the state leases land plots for an indefinite and, most often, short period. Sometimes a family manages to live only a couple of years, but an order comes to demolish the building.
German architect Alexis Dornier, who settled in Bali, decided to develop a project for autonomous houses on piles, which, if necessary, can be easily dismantled for transportation to another plot. For this, during construction, PropTech prefabricated structures and steel frames are used.
Houses are distinguished not only by simple installation / dismantling, but also by their environmental friendliness. The modular buildings of the German developer are equipped with solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system. That is, such houses are considered autonomous and do not cause significant harm to the environment, landscape and local ecosystem.
The structures have another feature - large roof protrusions. The architect believes that this provides natural ventilation and helps protect from rain and scorching sun. A small vegetable garden can be set up under the house.
Dornier plans to replace the steel frames in the CLT panels, both to reduce the weight of the building and to make the building more environmentally friendly. However, in Indonesia, the timber market suffers from an influx of illegal goods, the quality of which can be safely questioned.
The first tenants will be the team members and Dornier himself. The author of the project offers such houses in order to get additional income - for example, to put modular housing in his garden and rent it out. This should help in the development of tourism in the country and, as a result, the economy.
