From the old log house in the Fisherman's Chalet. Redevelopment, interior
Reconstruction of a classic five-wall with a minimal budget. Personal experience
IN first part of article the article shows a striking transformation of the old log house from the outside.
In the sequel, we will find out how the house has changed inside.
Is it budgetary?
The first thing that the participants in the discussion of Alexei's topic at the forum noticed was the discrepancy between the announced budgetary regime and the result.

Your house does not look low-budget either inside or outside.
What OSB was painted with? And how wide is the board a la fachwerk?

So this is just the most important task! Make a decent home for little money.
OSB painted with ordinary, inexpensive facade paint, I don't remember now, but the bank survived. There is no estimate for this house, as I did myself.
You are speaking on a non-budgetary basis, but it seems to me that everything is in plain sight in the photographs: wall decoration 150 rubles per m², cornice decoration and sheds 170 rubles m2, terrace board 340 rubles per m2, the entire street power frame from raw material was only shaved off, windows in general BOO. Is it cheaper?
It looks not budgetary because it is thought out to the smallest detail, made by professionals and has its own style.
Up close, the painted OSB looks pretty good too.
Redevelopment
Initially, it was a one-story log house with an extension, together it turned out to be two rooms: a large one - 36 squares, and a smaller one - 18 squares. And there are much more "wishes":
- a spacious living room with a high ceiling, where you can gather with family and friends in front of the TV;
- dining room with a large table;
- full kitchen;
- bathroom with all amenities;
- several bedrooms for yourself and friends;
- pantry for supplies;
- a vestibule where you can undress and take off your shoes for a large company.
And all this can be accommodated in the sounded area as comfortably as possible. It would seem unrealistic, but if you add a small attic, or rather a second light and think over the layout, everything will work out.
The living room and dining room have a high ceiling.
And above the kitchen is the second floor with bedrooms.
Under the vestibule from a large room, zoned into three parts, they "grabbed" 4 m² for a vestibule-changing room-switchboard. Since there are power surges in the village, it is a given, a stabilizer was installed above the dashboard with automatic devices and RCDs. Alexey made the hanger and shelves himself from the remnants of lumber.
The staircase was placed to the partition, the construction was also homemade, about 10 thousand rubles were spent on consumables (steps, etc.). Balusters on fences, like windows, and interior doors, are also BU. After painting, everything looks like new, and the costs are much lower. The stairs are miniature, but the guest floor is used only for sleeping and not so often, so the ascent / descent does not cause any special problems.
It turned out to be very convenient to store firewood for the stove under the stairs: a lot fits, they don't catch the eye, they dry well in the house.
His own skills helped a lot to save money - Alexey is a good carpenter and did almost everything with his own hands. Including interior items and furnishings. For example, a "designer" chandelier, which prices will not add up in the store, cost almost a penny. Three trims of a bar 150x50 mm (1.5 m long), spliced, grinded, poked with a grinder, painted. Plus 8 sconces for 170 rubles from Leroy, a meter chain for suspensions and the author's hand-made is ready.
Finishing
All interior decoration - natural wood, imitation of timber on the walls (140 mm), on the ceiling, lining (95 mm). He polished as needed, if he was not easy, the only thing he did not save on was impregnation for the Biof tree.

Someone will say, sheathed it with an imitation of a bar, what kind of economy is there, I will reveal my story.
Imitation of timber costs an average of 300-400 rubles per m², and lining 200-250, conclusion - lining is cheaper and you need to do it.
What I did: I called up familiar suppliers in order to find a rare imitation of a bar in a thickness of not 20 mm, but 15 mm. And I found it for 270 rubles. I also found grade B lining for 150 rubles.
I decided to do this, in the main room to decorate with imitation for 270 rubles, since it was necessary to be beautiful here, and in the bedrooms, the bathroom, the closet and the vestibule with cheap clapboard, because there it is no longer important. It turned out both spectacular and not expensive - the average price came out 210 rubles per m². And the fact that the imitation is 15 mm thick is not critical for the interior, but I do not recommend such a thin board with a width of 140 mm outside, it will bend like a boat.
The floor is also made of a board: first a primer, then a colored layer and a finishing coat of protective oil-wax.
Utility rooms, water supply
In addition to the bedroom (above), there is a storage room, a corridor and a bathroom in the 18-square-meter annex. The engineer "looks ugly, but works like a clock."
It may seem that the bathroom is very small, but it is not, it all depends on the viewing angle.
Water is supplied by a pump installed in the well: the HDPE pipe is dug in below the freezing depth, is introduced through the floor to avoid freezing, the input is insulated. Before leaving in winter, all the water is drained from the systems in a few minutes.
But the price of the issue is still haunted.

If we discard all the discount points, then the budget, taking into account the dismantling, will double.
Alexey_ Chuprina
It's not just about discounts, it's also time and effort, to analyze the market, to find good quality for small money, to get an additional discount when you work in this area, it is much easier to do this, because it has been worked out for years. For me, the most important thing is that you also need to understand what you can save on, and to what extent. After all, the house should be not only cheap but also of high quality. He must also serve his grandchildren. For example: to understand where it is necessary to use dry material, and where it is possible to use raw material. Another example: to make the correct calculation of the material, start everything with one machine, so that it does not remain and does not have to be bought, paying for additional deliveries.
And even on the constructive, you can save money, knowing the technology, because sometimes a board can replace glued beams, and one brace will give the house more rigidity than 10 thick boards.
Saving is a rational approach and a comprehensive solution that depends not only on the customer, but also on the builder.
And some natural beauty.
Like the rational approach and hard work!
In the next part, we will continue to get acquainted with the chalet and the fascinating landscape around, Alexey still has a lot of interesting things.
Look into history about a stylish one-story building or about the pool with a pavilion. In the video - about a large reconstruction of a log house.
