How to prepare a summer cottage for the new season

Winter has already ended and for many of us this is a reason to start making forays to the country or to the garden. There is a lot to do and you don't know where to start. I face this problem every year and in order to solve it, I decided to make a small list for myself with notes - how to prepare your site for the coming of spring?

Scheduled cleaning

Of course, no garden preparation is complete without cleaning. After all, you need to remove all the leaves that have fallen since autumn, dry grass, dry twigs broken off by the wind and other debris. To do this, stock up on rakes and a shovel, and also a wheelbarrow so that you can conveniently collect the garbage and transport it to the trash can.

Tree and shrub care

In the period before the first buds bloom, it is very important not to miss the moment of pruning trees and bushes. All broken and dry branches must be removed so that the tree does not get sick.

I also recommend that you whitewash trees and bushes before the temperature outside exceeds +15, otherwise there is a high probability that the trees may burst from the sudden movement of juices.

Also old trees can be replaced with new ones. Old trees must be cut down and stumps uprooted, and new seedlings must be purchased from the market and planted.

Outside and inside

At the beginning of the season, it is also worth taking care of the possible repair and painting of the fence, garden paths, greenhouse and other wooden buildings.

I also consider it important to clean your summer cottage. During the time while you were absent there, uninvited "guests" could have started.

Disinfect and clean the house. Be sure to wash all pillowcases, sheets, duvet covers and indulge in the scent of fresh spring linen.
