Shoes no longer slip! My brother made my sole not slippery in 10 seconds, even on ice
Ice is no longer a problem for me! Everything ingenious is not only very simple, but it can also be completely inexpensive! I'll tell you my case and a useful idea of my brother.
The end of December was not easy in our region. No, not frosty. Frost and last year, one might say, did not wait, but this year it was generally promised an abnormally warm winter. But this is not at all pleasing.
A few days before the new year, freezing rain fell again in Chuvashia. If this happened in your region, then you know what a beauty and at the same time an apocalypse it is. All trolleybuses in the city are stopped because of icy wires; taxi drivers do not want to work because of the risk of accidents.
But in the evenings, walking is a pleasure, if, of course, you can walk without falling. You feel like in a crystal city, where trees and bushes sparkle so beautifully with crystal branches. One trouble with this whole walk through the fabulous city is that there is a high probability of breaking your back (this is what my brother says).
I have new shoes for a week of movement on icy sidewalks and roads began to slide almost like skates. Previously, a new sole lasted even for a month, but now the ice has polished the surface in a week. Or is it a sole of this quality... It seems that the shoes are not cheap and the sole is thick.
Last weekend the weather was frosty and the ice on the roads was frozen. We were able to go for the last time to the village at the dacha and to visit relatives. Previously, of course, as best I could, I pasted over the sole with adhesive tape so as not to fall. But it doesn't really help. She still fell in the village. There, after all, they do not pour on the roads, as in the city.
I barely reached the house of relatives for barbecue. On the way, she managed to collapse several times. My brother was just cooking kebabs over the fire and, seeing my last "swan" fall right at the gate of his house, asked why I did not work the sole. In extreme cases, they say, you could go to a shoe shop to glue a rubber non-slip layer on the sole. Word by word... He removed the last portion of the kebabs and asked me to take off my shoes and give him for 5-10 seconds.
I grinded the coals in the grill as best I could, stirred them so that the surface was as flat as possible and put my shoes with the sole on the coals for a second and immediately put them on the snow. Then he looked at the sole, whether it was normal and applied equally over the entire surface. Apparently not so evenly. He took the coal with his metal "tweezers" (he has such an interesting thing) and applied it to the soles in several places.
As a result, the sole became so perceptibly rough. Someone said that you can do it with a soldering iron, but I realized that it is better with coals. Outwardly, such processing is not noticeable in any way, but now I walk calmly and do not fall. And today (at the time of this writing) the temperature is again 0 degrees and ice. It's time to come to terms with these winters.
But the charcoal treatment is suitable for thick soles or for already worn decals. By the way, stickers help, but now in comparison I can say that it is less than my brother's way. But the stickers are only suitable for flat soles of fashion shoes.
As a last resort, I advise you to buy such ice shoes and this is the best option for non-leather shoes so as not to spoil the surface. In Aliexpress, they cost from 300 rubles per pair. The fishing shops are in stock if you need it right now. They can be worn over shoes during periods of ice; it is generally very convenient for walking. Especially for me, so as not to stop running in any weather.
How do you process the sole so that it does not slip? Tell us the secrets too, please;)
