I'll tell you our story of how my wife and I decided to make repairs. Our apartment is small - one-room 42 sq.m. It was autumn, we were expecting our first baby. But as the apartment is small, of course there is no children's room. It was decided to make repairs in the living room and a children's corner in it.

Where to begin? How to combine incompatible? These questions were in our heads. First, we decided on the place where the children's area will be. In our living room there is a large sofa, which is also a sleeping place for us. When the baby is born, it will be very young. Better that he was next to our sleeping place. Therefore, we chose an area next to the sofa, but far from the window.

Important! It was imperative to limit the flow of cold air close to the child. We have a balcony in our room, so a draft could have a bad effect on the baby's health.

What went into the renovation of the room:

• Changed wallpaper
• We bought a wall for clothes and a TV
• Bought a crib and a pelina table
• Installed lights under the curtains
• Made skirting boards for the ceiling
• We ordered a stretch ceiling
• Bought a new big chandelier

The first thing we started with was buying wallpaper and all the accompanying wallpapers. We chose three main shades for the room - white, gray and pink (a little). All colors were cold tide.

They removed the old wallpaper, took out the furniture from the room and began to prepare the walls for new wallpaper.

Finishing work

• Plaster. To keep the walls even, the entire wall was primed. Then they waited for a while and, using gypsum plaster, leveled certain areas. Next, you need to give time to completely dry the mixture, it took us a day.

• Stretch ceiling. While everything was drying up, we hired workers to install stretch ceilings. When the ceiling was stretched, I installed the lighting on the curtain myself. For this I bought an LED strip and drilled holes for this strip on the curtain itself. It turned out pretty neat and beautiful.
• Wallpaper. Everything is dry, you can glue our wallpaper. My wife and I decided, on one side of the room, where there will be a sofa and a children's bed, to make bright wallpaper with an interesting cherry blossom. And on the rest of the walls, glue the usual ones that match this color.

• Skirting boards. Of course, it was possible to make special skirting boards for stretch ceilings. But they are thin in size, so we decided to buy regular ones. They are wider and look more harmonious in the room.

Arrangement of furniture

The renovation is done, the furniture is bought. You can start equipping the room. First, hang up the chandelier. We opted for a large chandelier with several lighting modes. It’s more convenient, suddenly the guests will come, then the light is at maximum. If it's a quiet family evening, the light is a little dimmer.

We have a wall with closers. Installed specifically for silent door closing. There will be a child in the house, so silence is the main thing that is needed at first. Wall material MDF. The facade color is white gloss, fingerprints are not visible on it and, in general, it looks modern. The body color is dark matte oak, matched to the color of the doors in the room There are many shelves, one cabinet with a glass door.

They put a bed, next to a pelinal table. A chest of drawers was placed in another corner, under the children's clothes.

A bit of decor - decorative pillows, a soft blanket, soft toys, fresh indoor flowers, photo frames and a lamp - all this gave the room a coziness and a pleasant atmosphere.

The curtains were matched to the color of the room. Tulle - classic white, with a small pattern. The curtains are gray with embroidered flowers.

The result is a nice room, for the start of our already big family!
